Our company policies are driven by our dedication towards the environment. We recycle over 60% of all the waste we receive in our on-site recycling plant. The rest is distributed to specialised treatment facilities; minimising the output sent to landfill sites.
A Brief History
Blakeley’s have experienced a constant and steady growth since the site was acquired at the former colliery Junction Works, Abram near Wigan in 1991. The following year the site expanded with further development of in-house facilities dedicated to the collection, sorting and recycling of household and commercial waste. The plant was able to substantially increase the recovery of recyclable material, limiting the residual waste sent to landfill.
Blakeley’s have come a long way since operating a single skip loader in the early 90’s. Now they manage a fleet of modern waste management vehicles and run a facility that can process and recycle
in excess of 500 tonnes of waste in a single day.
The company continues to invest heavily in new equipment and technology to provide a more efficient, more economical and more environmentally safe waste management service.
