RECYCLING WITH BLAKELEY'S:

The Blakeley's Waste Management Ltd company slogan is "Help the Environment Recycle" and we are fully committed to ensuring best practices to improve the environment both for today and for future generations.

We have made significant investment into the design and construction of our materials recycling facility (MRF) to enable us to segregate as much of the waste that arrives on site as possible.

From arriving on site, the waste is firstly scrutinised by mechanical grabs which remove the largest of the recyclable materials. What is left enters a conveyor belt, where individual constituents (including: glass, plastics, metals, wood and textiles) are removed and segregated for recycling.

At maximum efficiency as much as 95% of the waste stream can be treated in this way which means that only 5% of the original waste must be sent for landfill.

This effective system of waste management helps Blakeley's maintain our promise to "Help the Environment" and fulfils the requirements of the National Waste Strategy and the Landfill Directive, in the quest to divert waste away from landfill.

To further promote our commitment to the environment a conservation area within the boundary of the transfer station has been established.
