The Blakeley's Waste Management Ltd company slogan is "Help the Environment Recycle" and we are fully committed to ensuring best practices to improve the environment both for today and for future generations.
We have made significant investment into the design and construction of our materials recycling facility (MRF) to enable us to segregate as much of the waste that we receive as possible.
The Process
Our in-house recycling facility is used for both industrial and domestic waste, it enables us to process glass, plastics, cardboard, wood, ferrous and non ferrous metals.
From arriving on site, the waste is first scrutinised by mechanical grabs which remove the largest of the recyclable materials. It then travels through a trommel to remove fine particles , broken glass and food, it then travels along picking lines where individual constituents (including: paper , cardboard , plastics, glass ,metals, and wood ) are removed and segregated for recycling.
Blakeley’s Waste Management have been pre-treating waste in this way for over 15 years, long before it became law in October 2007 as part of the pre-treatment regulations of the landfill Directive. This facillity enables Blakeley’s to remove up to 65% of recyclates from the waste stream , improving recycling and diverting waste from landfill.
Our material recycling facility operates 24 hours a day recycling waste while the UK sleeps.
